Sunshine, Laughter, and Americana Soul: Sindacato Closes Out a Big Weekend at Clear Vibes
Following a rare back-to-back weekend of shows, Clear Vibes House Concerts wrapped up a memorable May with a Sunday performance that struck all the right chords. On May 18, 2025, under beautiful spring skies, a crowd gathered for an unforgettable afternoon featuring legendary local Americana band Sindacato and the quick wit of Indianapolis comedian Gwen Sunkel.
Though Clear Vibes rarely hosts two concerts in one weekend, the opportunity to collaborate with Musical Family Tree on Saturday's local music showcase made it a full, vibrant weekend of live performance. Sunday’s show brought a fresh wave of energy and new faces to the series, with many attendees experiencing a house concert for the very first time.
The afternoon kicked off with Gwen Sunkel, whose sharp humor and magnetic stage presence had the audience laughing from the start. Her set set the tone for an evening of warmth, joy, and genuine connection.
Headlining the event was Sindacato, one of Indiana’s most beloved roots bands, fronted by the ever-grateful and charismatic Frank Dean. With a sound that blends classic Americana with rock-and-roll soul, the band delivered a powerful, heartfelt performance that resonated deeply with longtime fans and first-timers alike. Joined by Gary Wasson, Carl LoSasso, and Jon Martin, Sindacato filled the backyard with rich melodies, honest lyrics, and a spirit of community.
The turnout was strong, the atmosphere electric, and the music timeless — a fitting close to a standout weekend for Clear Vibes. As Frank noted, the chance to play for such an attentive and welcoming audience was a gift — and one that echoed the mission of this unique house concert series: to bring people together through the power of live, local art.
