A Vermont Duo Makes a Stop in Indy
Vermont Music at Clear Vibes House Concerts
On Wednesday, October 21, we welcomed Chad Hollister and Jeff Poremski, better known by his nickname, Primo, for a special evening of live music. The two musicians were traveling from Vermont, making their way through Indianapolis as part of a tour that would take them to Texas, where they opened for the Barenaked Ladies and Lisa Loeb!
It's always special and fun when touring artists find their way to my little living room.
Meet Chad & Primo
Chad Hollister is a longtime touring singer-songwriter known for his thoughtful songwriting, engaging performances, and blend of acoustic rock, folk, and blues. Over the years, he's shared stages with some pretty legendary musicians, including Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, and Tom Petty.
Joining him was Jeff Poremski, or Primo, as he's affectionately known. The nickname stuck, and so did this musical partnership! Jeff is an incredibly talented guitarist who brought a lot to the performance, adding fun auxiliary sounds throughout the songs and treating us to some fantastic guitar solos.
Together, these two make a great musical pair, blending strong songwriting, musicianship, and plenty of personality.
Friends, Neighbors, & New Friends
One of my favorite things about hosting these concerts is bringing people together who might not otherwise find themselves in the same room. This evening was a perfect example, with friends, neighbors, and new faces filling the living room.
At one point, Chad referred to everyone as "FOK" (Friends Of Kati), adding that we must all be kind people. I think he was onto something!
I love these intimate shows. There's something so special about sharing live music in a home, getting to know the artists, and enjoying an evening together without all the fuss of a traditional concert venue. Early in the show, Chad opted to turn the lights off. They had brought some very chill stage lighting so most of the show as performed in low lighting which added another interesting element to this performance (you will see the red glow in the pictures which really set a different kind of vide to the evening).
One guest arrived a little too late and missed the music entirely! A good reminder that when the doors open at 6 and music starts at 6:30, you want to get there in time so you don't miss the show. But Chad and Jeff were kind enough to play him a tune even after everyone else had left. They really wanted to share the love of their music. Wow!
On the Road Again
After their stop in Indianapolis, Chad and Primo were headed south to Texas for their next big adventure, opening for Barenaked Ladies and Lisa Loeb. It was a pleasure having them make Clear Vibes House Concerts a stop along the way. We're wishing them safe travels, great shows, and all the best for the rest of their tour.
